Day 31 continued - Vinyl (British)

Vinyl (2012) Poster

"Aging rock group use a young fresh faced punk band to front new recordings to fool the music industry."

A very interesting take of a problem almost all rockers will face..age. The film could have been more serious and it might have been better. The comedy aspect takes away from the true problems that these guys face but it does make the journey easier. Its still a good film and very interesting to watch.  Phil Daniels does an excellent job as an aging rocker who just wants to keep doing what he loves but cant do to his age.

Day 31 - Scary Movie 5 (American)

Scary Movie 5 (2013) Poster

"A couple begin to experience some unusual activity after bringing their lost nieces and nephew home. With the help of home-surveillance cameras, they learn they're being stalked by a nefarious demon."

A lot better than I thought but its still not that good. The series should have ended with the second one. Its too much of a parody to be anything that good at least Kim Kardashian wasn't in it. There were a few laughable moments but not much. Most of the movie was very stupid and slightly annoying.

Day 30 continued - A Monster in Paris (French)

Monster in paris theatrical.jpg
"
The film is set in 1910. The story begins by documenting the flooding of the River Seine that year.
Shy projectionist Emile has a passion for film and is in love with his coworker at the cinema, Maud, but has trouble admitting his true feelings. His friend, an exuberant inventor and delivery driver, Raoul, picks him up from work to transport him in his bizarre vehicle (called "Catherine"), to pick up a new belt for his projector, which was broken due to Emile's inattentiveness while daydreaming. In the process of purchasing a new belt, Emile also gets himself a new camera (which almost gets stolen by a thief). The story also introduces Lucille, Raoul's childhood friend, who is a cabaret singer at the club L'Oiseau Rare ("The Rare Bird"). Though she is a successful singer, her aunt Carlotta does everything to push her into the arms of the wealthy Police commissioner, Victor Maynott, a man consumed by pride and ambition"

A very enjoyable animation film for all ages that will make you smile. The music was good but there wasn't a whole lot of it. I didn't really like how it was set up at first but I grew to enjoy the while thing. It was sweet at times and the other times it was cute. The animation wasn't that bad as well, the character designs were good. I would suggest this to anyone who loves a good movie especially one that takes place in Paris.

Day 30- Sex. Violence. Family Values (Singaporean)

Sex.Violence.FamilyValues movie poster.jpg

"
Billed as "three dirrrty stories from the world's cleanest city", Sex.Violence.FamilyValues is described by its makers as a film that "pitches political correctness out the window of Singapore mainstream cinema."[3]
Cartoons is a dark comedy about a disturbed child whose kindergarten headmistress discovers the boy's penchant for drawing morbid cartoons.
Porn Masala is a satirical farce about a pornographer who casts an Indian actor in his movie after mistaking the latter for an African.
The Bouncer tells the story of nightclub bouncer whose life is upended when he encounters a rebellious teenage poledancer."

A very interesting film filled with interesting characters and multiple culture clashes. I enjoyed this film a lot even if the acting wasn't that great. I like the plotlines as they are interesting and are the kind of stories people tend to shy away from. Its the best kind of movie to watch when you are boread late at night.

Day 29 continued - Machete Kills (American)

Machete Kills.jpg

"The film starts with Machete Cortez (Danny Trejo) and Sartana Rivera (Jessica Alba) attempting to capture weapon dealers who have been supplying the Mexican drug cartels. The military men are then all killed by the gangsters, who in turn are wiped out by another intervening party. Its leader murders Sartana while Machete is arrested by a corrupt Sheriff Doakes (William Sadler) and Deputy Clebourne (Samuel Davis). Doakes unsuccessfully tries to hang Machete but the President of the US, Rathcock (Charlie Sheen), intervenes. Machete is brought to the White House, where the president offers him US citizenship if he eliminates Marcos Mendez (Demián Bichir), a psychopath who is threatening to fire a nuclear missile at Washington, D.C. if the American government does not intervene to stop the rampant drug cartels in Mexico and the corruption of its government."

I'm not a Robert Rodriquez fan but this movie was okay. I did like all of the all star cameos from people like Cuba Gooding Jr to Antonio Banderas. Danny Trejo was awesome as always and it was a little bizarre to see Mel Gibson in the movie but I think he did an good job. The CGI was very poor and might have been filled with too much comedy. I wish the plot was better and they could have done different things with certain characters. It is a good movie to watch if you have nothing else to do.

Day 29 - Shadow of the Vampire (British/American)

ShadowoftheVampireposter.jpg

"In 1921, German director Frederich Wilhelm Murnau takes his cast and crew on-location in Czechoslovakia to shoot Nosferatu, an unauthorized version of Bram Stoker's novel Dracula. Murnau keeps his team in the dark about their schedule and the actor playing the vampire Count Orlok. It is left to the film's other main actor, Gustav von Wangenheim, to explain that the lead is an obscure German theater performer named Max Schreck, who is a character actor. To involve himself fully in his role, Schreck will only appear amongst the cast and crew in makeup, and will never break character."-wiki

To me this film was a little too boring, I had a hard time trying to get through it all. I did like John Malkovich and William Dafoe's performances as they were the best part of this movie. I didn't really like the storyline too much it was predictable and kind of tame. I suggest you skip this film unless you have seen Nosferatu.

Day 28 continued - Hitler's Children (Israeli/German)

Hitlers children documentary 2011.jpg

"portrays the struggle of family members of Hitler’s inner circle with the burden of a family legacy, and surname, identified with the horrors of the Holocaust. The descendants of the most senior Nazis describe the conflicted feelings of guilt and responsibility they carry with them in their daily lives."

A decent documentary that features such an interesting perspective but wasn't all that good. I enjoyed the emotion present in the film, it was real. If you are interested in WW2 and learning about Nazis then this is the documentary for you. Everyone present in the film has something to do with both of them.

Day 28 - Nanking (American)

Nanking (2007) Poster

"Teens and young adults discovering their true identities while dressing up as fictional characters"

Such a good documentary to help spread information about the horror of what the Japanese military did to the people of Nanking and China. We get to hear and see through the eyes of the Americans, Germans, British, Chinese, and Japanese who were in Nanking. It was very shocking to see actual footage of some very hard images to look at. It deeply saddens me to know that some of these Japanese war criminal are honored despite the things they did. Honestly if you are interested in knowing more about The Rape of Nanking then this is the documentary for you.

Day 27 continued - My Other Me: A Film About Cosplayers (American)

My Other Me: A Film About Cosplayers (2013) Poster

"Teens and young adults discovering their true identities while dressing up as fictional characters"

A very interesting documentary about a world that a lot of people still don't know about. Cosplaying itself is like a new community where all are welcome and dresses as a fictional character is the norm. The documentary for the most part shows us the lives of three cosplayers, one a first time cosplayer, a transsexual and a famous cosplayer. I wished that it was a little longer and slightly better in many ways. Though the documentary was actually quite good and is enjoyable for the most part.

Day 27 - Danland (American)

"Amateur porn producer Dan Leal, aka 'Porno Dan', searches for commitment and intimacy in spite of his industry and himself."

The documentary itself seemed poorly filmed and quite amateurish in a bad way. The only factor of this documentary that I liked was that it was all uncensored. Dan himself could be  an interesting person but we really don't get to know him. The film was so detached from emotions that it was hard to watch at times. I found Dan to be a big hypocrite especially with the way he thinks. I suggest you skip this documentary and it is not worth your time.

Day 26 continued - Iceman (Chinese/Hong Kong)

Iceman3D.jpg

"An imperial guard and his three traitorous childhood friends ordered to hunt him down get accidentally buried and kept frozen in time. 400 years later passes and they are defrosted continuing the battle they left behind"

The worst Donnie Yen movie I have ever seen, the whole thing was ridiculous. There is way too much forced comedy and not a very good plot. The special effects are so bad you have to try not to see it in order to see Donnie Yen perform. Even though this film has a lot of big talent in it, it fails horribly. It could be because of the director Law Wing-cheung who will not be considered a good director anytime soon. The ending will get you mad since it sets up like there is going to be a sequel which will probably be released later this year. I swear if you are not a Donnie Yen fan do not watch this movie.

Day 26 - Altman (American)

Altman (2014) Poster

"A  look at the life and work of American filmmaker Robert Altman"

It was a interesting documentary for many reasons like Altman is loved by actors but he is really not that famous in my generation. He is a very interesting director and man I happened to like his approach to directing. unlike most directors he fully supports the actors and tried to get on their good side in order to get a better performance out of them. In this documentary a few famous actors give their opinions about what altman stood for, etc. It was a good documentary for me to watch it made me really think about my approach to storytelling.

Day 25 continued - nosferatu (German)

Nosferatuposter.jpg

"Thomas Hutter lives in the fictitious German city of Wisborg. His employer, Knock, sends Hutter to Transylvania to visit a new client named Count Orlok. Hutter entrusts his loving wife Ellen to his good friend Harding and Harding's sister Annie, before embarking on his long journey. Nearing his destination in the Carpathian mountains, Hutter stops at an inn for dinner"-wiki

Honestly I wasn't really impressed with this film, it was kind of boring. I did happen to like the shadow work present in the film. It really did feel like a ripoff of Bram Stroker's Dracula. I did like a few scenes with Count Orlock but not that many. I will say that I think this movie was state of the art when it was first released. I do like Orlock as a character but I cant say much about him. I also think the film was slightly rushed as not a whole lot happens. I also don't really like the ending of the film, there really wasn't anything to do it. If you happen to like old movies then this is the movie for you.

2.5/5

Little Info
The studio purposely ripped off Bram Stoker's Dracula because they couldn't get the rights to use the book.
Stoker's heirs sued and won a courtcase having all copies burned but one edition of this movie managed to be saved.

Day 25 - Justine (West German, British, Italian)

Cruel Passion UK 2012 DVD cover.JPG
"ustine is a young virgin thrown out of a French orphanage and into the depraved world of prostitution. She slips into a life of debauchery, torture, whipping, slavery and salaciousness while her brazen, flirtatious and liberated sister Juliette ironically receives nothing but happiness and reward for her wanton behaviour."

This was a piece of trash, such a complete waste of the Marquis' story. The story was very slow to start out, there was no real sexuality present in the film. It looked like a cheap porno without a lot of breasts and with the poor acting. Back to the story there's not much there, I wish they at least understood what eroticism is.

Day 24 continued - The Source Family (Documentary)

The Source Family (2012) Poster

"A feature documentary film set in Hollywood, examining a radical experiment in '70s utopian living. The Source Family were the darlings of the Sunset Strip until their communal living, outsider ideals and spiritual leader Father Yod's 13 wives became an issue with local authorities. They fled to Hawaii, leading to their dramatic demise"-imdb

A very trippy documentary that gives us an inside look into a cult like family centered around Jim Baker aka Father Yod. Being able to see pictures, hearing voices, and seeing videos really happened this documentary to be very good. Could have been a lot better but its still kind of entertaining.

Day 24 - As The Light Goes Out (Hong Kong)

As the Light Goes Out poster.jpg
"The firefighters of Hong Kong's Pillar Point division battle an out-of-control blaze that threatens to plunge the city into darkness"

A very impersonal film you really didn't feel for the characters even if you may respect what they do. I think it was directors failure to not make this film more personal by showing the lives of the main characters. You never see one firefighters wife and you only see the ex-girlfriend of one firefight once and then she's never mentioned again. It half do to this that this movie failures but its still not that bad of a movie. There is a lot of room for improvement in this film and I hope the director grows.

Day 23 continued - Having You (English)

"It tells the story of a man named Jack who's living with his pregnant partner Camilla but one day Anna, a one night stand from 8 years earlier shows up and informs him he has a son called Phoenix"

Day 23 - Lady Ninja Kaede 2 (Japanese)

Lady Ninja Kaede 2

"The female ninja Kaede has escaped from her master Yatsude into Tomobiki, where she wishes to start a new life."

A very corny film with a good amount of sexuality. The best parts were seeing the lead actresses' wonderful body. Other than that the comedy was corny and the action was short. The first half of the movie the lead actress is playing with herself with a dildo made out of severed penises. If you like Japanese action comedies than you will love this movie.

That Guy... Who Was in That Thing (2012) Poster

"Documentary about sixteen actors who detail their ups and downs as they struggle to forge careers in Hollywood. They've played cops, lawyers, bosses, best friends, psychopaths, politicians and everything in between. Now you'll know who they are"

I actually knew most of the actors present in this documentary. It was kind of funny to realize even though I know their voices I didn't know their names. It was very interesting to hear about their experiences and what their opinions are about acting. If you really like to see inside the world of acting and entertainment than this is the documentary meant for you. Its very interesting!

"Five years after the events of the first film, former Sir Johnny English (Rowan Atkinson) is learning martial arts in Tibet as penance for a botched mission in Mozambique which resulted in him being stripped of his Knighthood. However, he is contacted by MI7, who request that he returns to service."

A very different kind of comedy making fun of the 007 series. It wasn't actually that bad, it wasn't all that funny either. There were some good things like the lead actor who can be entertaining. It was kind of funny to see him act as a confident spy who gets things done but always makes a mess. If you like weird comedy films then this is the one for you.

Day 21 continued - I Know That Voice (American)

I Know That Voice (2013) Poster
"Several voice actors discuss their art and their careers."

Such a wonderful documentary that almost everyone will love. Not only do the actors share their experiences, they also reveal techniques as well give advice. From Mark Hamill to Joe DiMaggio to Kevin Conroy there is at least one voice actor whose voice you will know in this film. I simply loved this documentary, it was so entertaining to watch. I suggest anyone that likes animation watch this film.

Day 21 - Moebius (Korean)

Moebius(2013) poster.jpg
"A father driven into desire, a son coveting that of his father's, and the sorrowful maternity that hovers them into tragedy."

This film has no dialogue at all but you can understand what is happening due to the emotion present. This kind of movie must have took a lot of courage to make since it is a very graphic film. I liked most of it but I felt like the emotions could have been better. There's also a bit of sick comedy messed in with the film. Lee Eun-Woo was such a wonderful actress in this film, she stands out to me as the best one. I felt like the son could have been better, I really didn't like him. Its an interesting film, if you have seen a Kim Ki-Duk movie before you should watch this movie.

With unprecedented access into one of the most private and anonymous spaces in Japanese society, this film follows the love hotel's struggling manager and staff as the try to keep their hotel running, as well as revealing the intimate and private lives of the customers who visit. "

A very in depth documentary into a world you really don't get to see unless you are in Japan. The people were so real and natural that is was so much a wonderful documentary to see. The directors did a great job proving that these people are normal but have to hide in fear of being discriminated. It can seem a little slow but its a good movie to watch. Please don't watch this if you are just looking for nudity, it doesn't have a whole lot. It does show intimate situations but not a lot of intercourse. I
will suggest this movie to everyone who is interested, its totally worth watching.

"Byung-ki (Cha Tae-hyun) is a taciturn village patrolman who helps out with trivial tasks like distributing promotional papers, though he dreams of fighting evil. One day, he runs into Min-kyong (Kim Sun-a), an employee at the neighborhood bowling alley, and falls for her at first sight. However, his attempts to woo her go unnoticed. Meanwhile, Sang-doo, the boss of the local gang, also swoons over Min-kyong and vows to take her virginity on Christmas Eve."

A very plain romantic comedy that has a real lack of depth. The film is a failure as it doesn't get you to care for the characters. Everything was over the top, I did like Cha Tae-hyun's character but I wish they did more with it.

Running Man Theatrical Poster.jpg
"The film, set in a dystopian America between 2017 and 2019, is about a television show called The Running Man, where convicted criminal "runners" must escape death at the hands of professional killers."

Not bad of a movie but felt like there was no real depth and everything happens so fast. I don't think Paul Michael Glaser did a good with directing as it feels like a typically action film rather than a film with a deep meaning. Arnold wasn't that bad in the movie but its still not one of his best acting moments. The supporting cast was alright, there wasn't really any depth to them and it felt like the director tried to rush these people out of the camera. Its still an okay movie to watch if you are bored.

Day 19 - Forest of Death (Hong Kong)

Forest of Death film poster.jpg

"
Police detective Ha Chun-Chi (Shu Qi) is investigating a rape and murder that took place in a mysterious forest that has also been the scene of many suicides. The main suspect in the murder case is Patrick Wong (Lawrence Chou), but he denies committing the crime.
Ha's investigation leads her to botanist Shum Shu-Hoi (Ekin Cheng), who has been experimenting with plants from the forest. Shum's girlfriend, May (Rain Li), feigns interest in the forest to gain information for a tabloid television show she works for."

Not the best horror movie I've seen but its not that good of a movie. I did like Shu Qi but none of the characters had the right amount of depth. The plot was alright but the story just becomes unnecessary as time goes on. After the big case its quite easy to understand what is going to happen and what the forest will do next. I don't know what the pang brothers were thinking when they made this movie.

Day 18 continued - Thunder and the House of Magic (belgian)

Thunder and the House of Magic.jpg

"The film focuses on an abandoned young cat who seeks shelter in the home of an old, retired magician with his automatons and gizmos."

A very cute film with likeable characters, a lot of people will love Thunder. It feels a little bit short but its entertaining. Its a film the whole family can watch and walk away happy unless the kids ask for a cat. Anyway the animation wasn't that bad, also the 3D aspect wasn't that bad either. There was a simple plot that everyone could follow with different types of characters that everyone can enjoy. Though it will lack depth for the adults who chose it watch it but it's simply a animation movie meant for children so keep that in mind.

Day 18 - Explorers (American)

Explorersposter1985.jpg

"The film stars Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix (in their film debuts) as teenage schoolboys who build a spacecraft to explore outer space"

A good movie that could have been great if it wasn't rushed. Yet the film still has its value as an entertaining movie. The director did a good job as did the casting director. Its quite brave to make a movie with children as the main stars but they managed to pull it off. Ethan Hawke was quite an actor at this age much better than most of the kids in the goonies movie. Sadly the other two kids didn't really do a whole lot of acting after this film, one died at 23 years old and the other retired. It should have been a bit longer with the aliens shown more but they still do a good job. This is a great movie to watch with children or if you simply like these kind of movies.

Day 17 continued - Get the Gringo (American)

Get The Gringo Key Art.jpg

"The film opens with a getaway driver (Mel Gibson) and a wounded accomplice dressed as clowns fleeing from American police toward the Mexican border. The driver crashes through the border fence, whereupon he is arrested by corrupt Mexican police officers Vasquez (Mario Zaragoza) and Romero (Gerardo Teracena). When they find over $2 million in the car, they incarcerate him in El Pueblito prison under false charges, keep the cash for themselves, and cremate the accomplice, who by then has died. As one of the only Americans incarcerated there, the driver becomes known as "the Gringo".

An interesting film from Mel Gibson with everything you need in it, good acting, action, sex, etc. It is such a good movie I wasn't expecting it. I enjoyed the supporting cast especially the kid who provided the gringo with some much needed support. The story was good, Mel Gibson also co-wrote it which is interesting as well. I enjoyed seeing the story develop, it even got better as it went on. If you are a Mel Gibson or an action film fan you will enjoy this movie.

Day 17 - Divergent (American)

Lead characters Tris and Four stand above a futuristic Chicago.

"The story takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic version of Chicago[7] where people are divided into distinct factions based on human virtues. Beatrice Prior is warned that she is Divergent and thus will never fit into any one of the factions and soon learns that a sinister plot is brewing in her seemingly perfect society"

It was better than I thought it was going to be but it could have been better still. I didn't really like Shailenne Woodly, she reminded me of Kristin Stewart but she happens to be a slightly better actress. The supporting cast was fine but I also didn't like Zoe Kravitz she was quite annoying. I did like the world they designed and the system used in the film. It was entertaining to watch so its worth it if you have nothing to watch on a slow day.

"A man takes over a TV station and holds a number of hostages as a political platform to awaken humanity, instead of money"

It was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I overly enjoyed this film and its message plus the lead actor Brendan Fletcher who did an amazing job. The direction was good but could have been better. I also wish the supporting could have been better as well. Its still a good low budget movie to watch if you are bored and are in need of entertainment.

Day 16 - Hoodwinked (American)

"It retells the folktale Little Red Riding Hood as a police investigation, using flashbacks to show multiple characters' points of view."
Its a really cheap movie that uses the program MAYA but I felt like they didn't use their time wisely. The animation was weak, it needed way more in-betweens and to follow the rules of animation better. The only good thing about this film was the voice cast which consisted of XZibit, Jim Belushi, Andy Dick, Anne Hathaway, Patrick Warburton and many others. I suggest you skip this film as it is such a bad movie.

A Life in Dirty Movies (2013) Poster

"A documentary shot at the end of pornographer Joe Sarnos's life, which reveals his attempt to make one last film, as well as his relationship with his wife, Peggy."

A very interesting documentary into the world of sex and movies. I actually liked Joe Sarnos approach to his movies and his reasons behind them. It actually inspired me to take a new approach to the way I view sex in movies as well as sex in my artwork. I overly enjoyed most of the film but I felt like I wanted to see more. I wanted to know more about the man and his movies but sadly Joe died during the filming of this documentary. I suggest you watch this film if you like interesting documentaries.

"The Film tells the story about You-lim whose only daughter Eun-ah commits suicide after a rape by a group of male students. Because all of the suspects are minors, they can leave without the possibility of punishment by law. You-lim is so full of anger that she seeks out revenge on her own. "

Such a very sad story that could have an even better movie if it wasn't for the last part of the movie. I think Yoo Sun proved she was a great actress in this film as this is her most emotional role I have seen her in. She was quite good, it was so entertaining to see her. I think that the director managed to show why she decides to strike back but at the same time you get frustrated at how the main characters gets revenge. I think that supporting actors especially the one who played the main characters daughter was excellent. Though some of the actors didn't have enough depth especially the cop in charge of the case. As he really didn't care until he learned about his daughters role in this whole plot. It is still a great story, these events could actually happen that thought adds to the element of realism present in the film. Thus I could understand why the director chose to make her revenge plot slightly weak. I suggest you watch this movie, as it is a good one it will make you think.

"The film shows the high level of personal expression that typically goes into independent games, through the story of three games: Braid was released in 2008, Super Meat Boy was preparing for its 2011 release, while Fez was struggling with development hell for several years.
"
A great documentary that shows us the difficult world of indie games. It was quite interesting to hear their stories and their struggles. I think it should have been slightly longer but it was still was directed well as it was entertaining. I wish we could have seen more of the development process but I am still satisfied with everything present in the film.

This was probably the best horror comedy Japanese movie I have ever seen. It wasn't badly directed and the film used didn't look that low budget. So they used good lighting and good characters. I enjoyed most of the movie plus you have a bunch of cute girls fighting. If you like Japanese horror comedies then watch this film. It is slightly corny as you can expect but its still entertaining.

Best of times poster.jpg
"two friends attempt to relive a high school football game."

A bad movie but with two wonderful leads its somewhat entertaining. I wished there was more comedy involved and a better supporting cast. The plot was simple but felt like they didn't work enough of the script and character development. Robin Williams was okay but felt like he wasn't his normal self in the film. Kurt Russel was also okay, I think they didn't work on his character a lot. I suggest you skip this film as well.

Day 13 - Raze (American)

Raze (2013) Poster

"Raze, a horror/action film, focuses on two abducted women & 50 other women who are forced to fight each other using their bare hands."

Such a bad movie, it was confusing at times and all the bad acting distracts you from at the screen. I didn't mind that there are no pretty girls in the film but I did mind that none of these girls look like they have ever fought before. The fighting was weak and fast with really no emotion. They tried hard they managed to do slightly okay but manage to fail to get us to feel anything. I suggest you skip this movie!

Day 12 continued - King Ralph (American)

A man sitting on a throne wearing a Las Vegas tshirt.
"The entire House of Wyndham (based on the House of Windsor), the ruling family of the United Kingdom in the film, is electrocuted in a freak accident while posing for a family photograph, after a cable becomes wet during a storm. The British government immediately begins a search led by courtier and royal private secretary Sir Cedric Willingham to look for any surviving heirs to whom to pass the crown. A researcher finally locates a living heir named Ralph Jones, an American rock and roll musician"

I think it had a great concept but poor execution. The only good element of the film was John Goodman who was good but could have been great with a better script. I think Peter O'Toole was good but his character wasn't well written. This film was a total failure but doesn't mean its not entertaining. The jokes were very predictable to the point anyone could be funnier. Its still a decent movie to watch if you are bored.

Day 12 - Belphegor, Phantom of the Louvre (French)

Belphegor louvre.jpg

"
"A rare collection of artifacts from an archeological dig in Egypt are brought to the famous Musée du Louvre in Paris. While experts are using a laser scanning device to determine the age of a sarcophagus, a ghostly spirit escapes and makes its way into the museum's electrical system. Museum curator Faussier (Jean-Francois Balmer) brings in a noted Egyptologist, Glenda Spencer (Julie Christie), to examine the findings, and she announces that the mummy inside the coffin was actually the evil spirit Belphegor.Meanwhile, a young woman named Lisa (Sophie Marceau) who lives across the street from the museum follows her runaway cat into the Louvre after closing time. She is accidentally given a shock that sends the stray spirit into her body. Soon Lisa is disguising herself as Belphegor and making off with the rare Egyptian treasures on display at the museum, convinced that they are rightfully hers. When Belphegor proves more than a match for the Louvre's security forces, renowned detective Verlac (Michel Serrault) is brought out of retirement to find out why the museum's Egyptian collection has been shrinking."

Such a bad movie, it was all over the place that I didn't really know what genre to place this film. There are horror elements but its considered a fantasy. I really hated this movie it was boring but had the potential to do a lot. Due to poor acting, script, plot, etc this movie will never be remembered in a few years. The lead actress was beautiful but she wasn't used to the best of her abilities. The best thing about the film was the mummy's costume that the possessed people wore under his control. I Suggest you skip this film!

Day 11 continued - Incredibly Ever After (Chinese/Hong Kong)

Mister-and-mrs-incredible-poster.jpg

"In ancient China, a husband and wife, both of them retired superheroes, contend with the high cost of living, infertility, and other contemporary life issues."

Such a corny comedy that will have you rolling your eyes rather than laughing. There are a few good elements but they are hard to find. I enjoyed a few of the characters but most of them lacked depth. Even the villain at the end really had no depth and was revealed at the last half of the film which leaves you wondering what in the hell. No one really performs well in the film but I think the director does an alright job. The script needed a lot of work but its still an okay film to watch if you are bored.

Day 11 - Mom's Night Out (American)

Moms' Night Out poster.jpg

"Feeling overworked by her children, mother of three Allyson decides to go on a moms' night out with her friends, Izzy and Sondra. The three expect a night to unwind while Allyson's husband, Sean, takes care of all the kids. After their reservation is canceled things go from bad to worse when Allyson's sister-in-law, Bridget, realizes that her infant son, Phoenix, is missing. The four travel across the city looking for the child and ultimately learning to quit blaming others for their own problems. While all this is going on, their husbands attempt to care for the children with disastrous results."

This a complete waste, there is really no value in this film. All the acting was so bland that it was annoying. I hate that I didn't read up on this film because I learned it was a Christian based comedy. It caused a lot of religious/boring as hell dialogue. The plot was weak and not a whole lot happens. I think it would have been better if it wasn't religious based.
