Day 4 continued - Friday the 13th: Part 6: Jason Lives (American)

Friday6.jpg

"Set years after the events of the previous film, Jason has been dead for years, and the town of Crystal Lake has been renamed to Forest Green to disassociate itself from the bloody past. Tommy Jarvis, now eighteen years old, drives to a cemetery with a friend from the institute he was released from, Hawes. Intent on destroying Jason's corpse to relieve his hallucinations, Tommy and Hawes dig up his grave to cremate him. Upon seeing his body, however, Tommy goes into a rage, grabbing a metal fence post and stabbing Jason's corpse several times with it. Inexplicably, a bolt of lightning strikes the rod, then a second bolt reanimates Jason, who attacks Tommy when he pulls it from his chest"

A bad movie meets a good character by the name of Jason. I really disliked Thom Matthews, he was quite boring and very annoying as a lead actor. The storyline was quite bland as were most of the supporting cast. Almost everyone in the film was annoying especially the sheriff and the guidance counselors. The actor who played Jason was good but I felt like they used the character wrong. The film had a horrible script and poor direction which lead to its downfall. I did like the fact that Jason is supernatural in this film, one of the few good things the director/writers did.

1/5

Little Info
They were going to make Tommy Jarvis the films villain
It broke the conventions of a horror movie by including action stunts like car chases
