A very interesting movie based on real life events which is partly slow but messed up all the time. The director did an alright job but felt like he didn't capture enough emotion needed to tell an amazing story. The ending was predictable which left me upset as I was expecting something more. The film has many slow spots and doesn't really pick up until close to the very end of the film. If you like dramatic movies then this is the movie for you.

The prison actually existed and there was a rebellion but even after the 1915 rebellion the prison lasted until 1953
